HAND HISTORY: THUNDER KELLER’S
RUNNER-RUNNER
At last year’s WSOP main event, Thomas “Thunder” Keller
startled everyone by appearing 200lbs the lighter! There were
greater surprises to come when he pulled off “the sickest
runner-runner ever” against Alan Gould. Moving all-in pre-flop
against Gould, Keller showed his King of Hearts-Ten of Clubs,
only to discover Gould had black pocket rockets. The flop came
down Six-and-Ace of Diamonds-Three of Hearts making Gould 98%
favourite to win with his Trip Aces. But then the Turn
delivered Queen of Spades, putting Keller on a straight draw if
he could land the other runner. Sure enough, out popped the
Jack of Spades on the final street giving him his straight and
doubling his chip count. Both men looked stunned and Keller
could only apologise and mutter, “That was officially the worst
suckout I have ever done!”
