featuring The Biggest Pot in High
Stake Poker on video!
Watch the “Biggest pot on High Stakes Poker” video. It
features a hand where Gus Hansen with a pair of Fives was up
against Daniel Negreanu with a pair of Sixes. The flop came
down Nine-Six-Five, giving sets to both players with the pot
standing at $11,700. Hansen checked, Negreanu bet $8,000, and
Hansen raised to $26,000, which was then called. Hansen
suppressed a smile as the turn card gifted him quads and he bet
$24,000. Negreanu slow played his full house by calling. The
river was an eight and Gus craftily checked. Negreanu thought
about it and then bet $65,000 and Hansen quickly said, “I’m
all-in.” Negreanu was visibly shocked; he stood up and asked
for a chip count. He eventually called the bet, making the pot
a whopping $575,700, and looked like he’d been punched in the
gut when he saw Hansen’s Fives. No wonder, he had just lost
over $300,000 cash! The cool Dane, on the other hand, raked in
his mountain of cash and chips, and murmured, “That was pretty
sick!”
